FHA and VA Loan Requirements: Water Testing is Crucial

If you are purchasing a home in Central Florida with an FHA or VA loan and the property relies on a private well for drinking water, a water quality test is typically required as part of the lending process. These government-backed loan programs have specific health and safety requirements designed to protect homebuyers and ensure the water supply is safe for everyday use.

A well water test evaluates the property’s drinking water for contaminants that may pose health risks, including bacteria, nitrates, nitrites, and other water quality concerns. Lenders often require documentation showing that the well water meets acceptable standards before approving the loan and allowing the transaction to move forward.

Failing a water quality test can create unexpected obstacles during the home-buying process. Contamination issues may require additional testing, treatment systems, repairs, or corrective actions before the lender will approve the loan. These delays can impact closing timelines, increase costs, and create unnecessary stress for buyers and sellers alike.

At Elite we provide professional FHA and VA well water testing services with fast turnaround times and reliable results. Our experienced inspectors follow established testing procedures to ensure accurate sampling and reporting that meets lender requirements. We understand the importance of keeping your real estate transaction on schedule and work closely with homebuyers, real estate agents, lenders, and sellers throughout the process.

Whether you’re purchasing a home in Orlando, Davenport, Lakeland, Haines City, Winter Haven, Kissimmee, or anywhere in Central Florida, our team can help ensure your well water testing requirements are completed efficiently and correctly. With decades of inspection experience, we make the process simple so you can move forward with confidence toward a successful closing.
